Bargain Shopping

While out and about today I stopped at my favorite thrift store and found something I am SO EXCITED about! I sew pretty often and do other things as well that this will come in SO HANDY FOR!  It was only 5.00 and was brand new. The packaging was still in tact like a new one. Still cardboard around it with the tape on it. I also found the hardback book and it was .50.

P3310540 P3310539

You can see a little of the piece of fabric beside the box with the lamp in it. I took the mattress out and washed the cover. I think it’s a little cot mattress. It was only 1.00. But the fabric matches my living room curtains sooooo well! I have it thrown across one of those fold up drying wooden thingies to dry. This is another pic of it below. The above pic of it is a better one but you can only see the edge of it.

P3310537

Then I also found this and it was like .50 as well. I figured this might come in handy with my sewing. I tried it out tonight on a piece of fabric that needed ironing and it works. But really excited about the magnifying lamp!!!!

Rain, Rain and More Rain

P3280505

All the bad weather the other night caused our pond to really get high which is perfectly fine with me. I love it like this!!!! This is a shot on the other side of the pond. You can see how close it came to being at the top on that side.

But this creek we pass ever so often is wayyyyyyyyy out of its banks. The Pascagoula River should be loving all this fresh water! This creek is close to a church and the whole church yard is covered in water from the creek. It almost got inside the church. The church is through the woods on the right side of the pic. The water is starting to go down now though, thank goodness!

P3280521

Notice the fence post to the right of the pic. That is the very top of the post sticking out of the water. Notice how far away from the bridge I am, see the truck up there. It’s on the bridge.

P3280519

This is a shot wayyyyy on down from the bridge past where I was taking the first pic. There is a VERY SMALL creek that runs to the right of this pic and they both have joined. The small creek is so small it only has a culvert under the road for it. It actually had rapids yesterday evening. See that one below.

P3280517

Another view of it below. P3280514

Notice the rapids in the pic below on down in the pic. The water from these little creeks wound up being like a mile in length along the road. That’s just a guess on it but it was a long way. It was like traveling in La. along the bayoo’s.P3280513

The ditch along this road is really deep and the sides of the roads steep as you can see from the pic. No emergency area to park on. lol

The next pic below is in the church parking lot. Notice the gate how deep in the water it is.

P3280525

P3280526

Part of the church and the front and side of the church’s parking lot in water.

This is nothing compared to all those folks up north though that is having all the flooding due to the snow melting. That is so sad! They’re filling sand bags and freezing cold trying to do so, trying to keep the water out of their homes and businesses. Someone always has it worse than you or I do. I’m so thankful it didn’t get in the church! It’s very pretty seeing all the water and the green and I know it’s probably doing the creeks great getting a good washing out like they’re getting. I’m just so glad He did promise us no more flooding like in the days of Noah and the ark and He gave us the sign of His promise, the rainbow.

MAGNOLIAS

My friend Tammy just sent this to me in an email and I just had to share it here. It says on the email that it’s by  Edna Ellison. If my magnolias were in bloom I would have put a pic of one of them on this post. Maybe I can remember to come back later when they DO get in bloom and put a pic on here. Anyway this is just awesome! A MUST READ!!!!

I spent the week before my daughter's June wedding running last-minute trips to the caterer, florist, tuxedo shop, and the church about forty miles away.
As happy as I was that Patsy was marrying a good Christian 20 young man, I felt laden with responsibilities as I watched my budget dwindle . ..
So many details, so many bills, and so little time. My son Jack was away at college, but he said he would be there to walk his younger sister down the aisle, taking the place of his dad who had died a few years before. He teased Patsy, saying he'd wanted to give her away since she was about three years old!
To save money, I gathered blossoms from several friends who had large magnolia trees. Their luscious, creamy-white blooms and slick green leaves would make beautiful arrangements against the rich dark wood inside the church.
After the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, we banked the podium area and choir loft with magnolias. As we left just before midnight, I felt tired but satisfied this would be the best wedding any bride had ever had! The music, the ceremony, the reception - and especially the flowers - would be remembered for years.
The big day arrived - the busiest day of my life - and while her bridesmaids helped Patsy to dress, her fiance Tim walked with me to the sanctuary to do a final check. When we opened the door and felt a rush of hot air, I almost fainted; and then I saw them - all the beautiful white flowers were black. Funeral black. An electrical storm during the night had knocked out the air conditioning system, and on that hot summer day, the flowers had wilted and died.
I panicked, knowing I didn't have time to drive back to our hometown, gather more flowers, and return in time for the wedding.
Tim turned to me. 'Edna, can you get more flowers? I'll throw away these dead ones and put fresh flowers in these arrangements.'
I mumbled, 'Sure,' as he be-bopped down the hall to put on his cuff links.
Alone in the large sanctuary, I looked up at the dark wooden beams in the arched ceiling. 'Lord,' I prayed, 'please help me. I don't know anyone in this town. Help me find someone willing to give me flowers - in a hurry!' I scurried out praying for four things: the blessing of white magnolias, courage to find them in an unfamiliar yard, safety from any dog that may bite my leg, and a nice person who would not get out a shotgun when I asked to cut his tree to shreds.
As I left the church, I saw magnolia trees in the distance. I approached a house...No dog in sight. I knocked on the door and an older man answered. So far so good . .No shotgun. When I stated my plea the man beamed, 'I'd be happy to!'
He climbed a stepladder and cut large boughs and handed them down to me. Minutes later, as I lifted the last armload into my car trunk, I said, 'Sir, you've made the mother of a bride happy today.'
'No, Ma'am,' he said. 'You don't understand what's happening here.'
'What?' I asked. 'You see, my wife of
sixty-seven years died on Monday. On Tuesday I received friends at the funeral home, and on Wednesday . . . He paused. I saw tears welling up in his eyes. 'On Wednesday I buried her.' He! looked away. 'On Thursday most of my out-of-town relatives went back home, and on Friday - yesterday - my children left.'
I nodded.
'This morning,' he continued, 'I was sitting in my den crying out loud. I miss her so much. For the last sixteen years, as her health got worse, she needed me. But now nobody needs me. This morning I cried, 'Who needs an eighty-six-year-old wore-out man? Nobody!' I began to cry louder. 'Nobody needs me!' About that time, you knocked, and said, 'Sir, I need you.'
I stood with my mouth open.
He asked, 'Are you an angel? The way the light shone around your head into my dark living room...'
I assured him I was no angel.
He smiled. 'Do you know what I was thinking when I handed you those magnolias?'
'No.'
'I decided I'm needed. My flowers are needed. Why, I might have a flower ministry! I could give them to everyone! Some caskets at the funeral home have no flowers. People need flowers at times like that and I have lots of them. They're all over the backyard! I can give them to hospitals, churches - all sorts of places. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to serve the Lord until the day He calls me home!'
I drove back to the church, filled with wonder. On Patsy's wedding day, if anyone had asked me to encourage someone who was hurting, I would have said, 'Forget it! It's my only daughter's wedding, for goodness' sake! There is no way I can minister to anyone today.'
But God found a way. Through dead flowers.
'Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.'
If you have missed knowing me, you have missed nothing.
If you have missed some of my emails, you may have missed a laugh. But, if you have missed knowing my LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, you have missed everything in the world.
May God's blessings be upon you.
THIS IS SO TRUE, BEING NEEDED IS SO UPLIFTING TO EACH OF US.
This story is too beautiful not to send...

Ponds Almost Full

Robert said it lacks a couple foot on this side that the house is on, being up to the top. It probably has 12 foot plus of water in it now. He said 12 but I am thinking more like 15-18 foot.

Anyway wanted to show you how pretty it is when it is almost full. Only once since we have lived here has it almost ran out the spillway. It lacked a couple foot that time. I just dream of it holding like this all the time. If it did, I would have me some koi in it!!!! Man those would be awesome in there swimming around. You can see the water from inside the house when it’s full like this. I just love it! It’s holding better than it used to but still isn’t holding well enough for me to put koi in it. :( One day, one day! ;)

As you can see, we had yet another storm last night. That one was much worse than the other two we’ve had this week. I was getting worried last night because it started hailing and the wind was really blowing!! The river down there toward the coast should have SOME KIND OF WATER in it in a few days with all this rain we have had this week! On the way back from Jackson yesterday ALL the creeks and rivers were wayyyyyyy out of their banks and into the ditches. Two of them, the water lacked 6” from being to the under side of the bridge. LOADS of water!!!!

I’m standing on the porch at the door on the last one. See the pine tree with the beige bench around it, the water level is suppose to stay up there about 1 foot from the base of that pine. Hurricane Katrina really worked on my poor pine. :( I should have let the core of engineers cut it down when they came to help us clear the mess up. But I wanted it left because of my bench. There’s loads of limbs missing on it and it’s an eye sore. :( It’s a huge pine but now that so many limbs are missing on it, the thing is growing like mad. I didn’t think about that. It’s already touching the inside of the hole on the bench and in a short time will tear up my bench that is cemented in the ground. It’s already pushing the legs out like crazy.

My other chair to the little table got blew toward the north Robert said. It’s out in the pines. I will have to go get it and sit them back up again and pick up all those oak limbs the winds blew down.

It sure is a beautiful day!!!! I sure hope everyone else is having one of these days as well!

Outdoor World

As I told you in the other post I would come back and share the pix I took today at the Outdoor World Bass Pro Shop there in Jackson. We spied it while taking our daughter to the airport to catch a plane. So we came back and went to it. This is a really cool place! As you can tell by some of the pix, this place is HUGE!! I could have played there all day! LOL As you can tell from all my pix! I sure hope you all enjoy them. I had you in mind while taking them!!!

Oh by the way, this is as close as I’ll EVER come to a skunk if I’ve got anything to do with it! ;)

I could not help but think of our friend Shine. He would love this place! Next time he comes to see us we just gotta take him to see this!

Teapot Handle Fixed

P3270383

Wanted to show you all my teapot handle now that it's fixed. My online friend Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality told about how she fixed an urn handle on her blog with this air dry clay. So I asked her some questions about it and found mine at Hobby Lobby yesterday. My friend Sheila molded the handle for me. She bakes cakes of all kinds and does all kinds of sculpturing so I knew she would be able to make it look just like the handles on the tea cups. I've got to paint it yet but just had to show you what a good job on it she did. It will have to dry probably for at least a week because it is soooo wet here now due to all of this rain! I just wet the ends of it and stuck it to the broken area and as the air dries it, it's getting harder and harder.  As a thank you present, I found Sheila a little white teapot of her own today. She and her grand-daughter can have their own little tea party with it. By the way, this fountain of mine also is a music box as well as a fountain.

P3270494

Also wanted to show you this pic. We were headed home today from taking our daughter to the Jackson airport and when we almost got to the town of Magee where they had that tornado touch down last night, the traffic was backed up for a mile or more. Lots of folks had to go to the hospital they said on the news. Their power is out, and several folks lost their home. :( One guy lost his due to hurricane Katrina and now has lost another one to this. Man my heart hurts for him because that has to be sooooo hard to take losing one home let alone TWO? Please keep him and the others in your prayers as they try to pick up the pieces of their life! This is the site we seen while having to go through that way going home this evening. The power trucks were working on trying to get their power back on. You can see the buckets to the trucks there in the distance. There was debris all over the place on the left side but you can’t see it in this pic. There were lots of power trucks all along the sides of the road on both sides working on the power lines. We noticed there were several businesses that had power through there when we came back through there this evening. I know that was a HUGE blessing to these folks!!!! Being without power for just an hour is for the birds!

Outdoor Shop

DH and I had to take our daughter to catch the plane in Jackson today. When we got her on the plane he and I went shopping. lol We had seen this Bass Pro Outdoor Shop going to the airport and it caught his attention. So we went there and my word that place is awesome! Waterfalls and critters all over the place. The critters are stuffed ones of course but the fish were real. I took loads of pix to share with you but can't do it right now because I don't have time. I got as close as I will EVER get I HOPE, to a skunk. Again stuffed of course! LOL

I did find a friend of mine a little teapot in one of the shops but didn't find anything else I couldn't live without.

Ok got to run but will come back later and share some pix with you.

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Where Go The Boats?

P3260375

Hee hee, just HAD to use that for my heading because I used to dearly LOVE that poem by Robert Louis Stevenson! I even memorized it! ;)

Anyway I was out and about today wasting time because my car had to have it's 30K check up and they said it would take four plus hours to do all the stuff they had to do to it. So we took both cars so we could shop or go to B.A.M. and not have to sit there at the dealership.

While DH was at B.A.M. I went to Ross. I just had to take a pic of all the boats they had in there! Some were just plain out huge!

P3260379

I bought the little one in the pic above with the Bible scripture on it. I just could not pass that one up. Plus it was a smaller one and more to scale for me. But loved the scripture on it big time to!

P3260380

Yesterday we had to do some stuff and I got to go to 3 of my thrift stores and naturally at my favorite one I find 3 blinds. One being a roman blind like I need for the bedroom. (it fits the window to!) I am going to have to change the front piece of cloth because it's the wrong color but I don't think that will be as hard as making one from scratch. I think she only charged me .50 for that one because my total wasn't but 3.55 and I had 2 more wooden blinds and she said those were 1.00 each. I even got a mega huge beach towel for the dogs bed. Right now we're trying to teach him to sleep beside our bed in a plastic tub. If he wasn't in the tub he would be rambling all over the house while we're asleep I'm afraid! LOL Plus there were also some of the flat curtain rods I had in my buggy.

P3260374

Also while at Ross something caught my eye and I just HAD TO TAKE A PIC OF IT TO! I love this! That is just beautiful to me!  I’d like to do me one of these! I don’t know what those little tiny clear balls are that is in there. Maybe I can find those! But I think I even have a vase like that already and I do have some starfish as well, but don’t know if they’re like those or not. Anyway this was a pic that was on the box this was in.

I even also managed to find that air dry clay stuff at Hobby Lobby that Rhoda told me about to fix the handle on my tea cup fountain.

My Online Friend, Georgia

We met on the water gardening forum many many years ago.I can’t even remember the name of the forum now but do remember it was water gardening. She and I had a love for water gardening and so we posted there a lot. The folks that had the forum for us to post on also had a water gardening magazine that lots of us subscribed to. That’s where we became friends and started emailing each other. Then several years later her husband Ben died of cancer and we really got to emailing each other a lot. I tried to encourage her because she was so down and grieving so bad. Over these past few years she would email me and say how much she missed her Ben. She was so lonely she said. My heart went out to her but as of Friday at 8:42, March 20th, she is with her Ben. So I know she isn’t lonely anymore and is really enjoying being with Jesus and her Ben.

She was a hoot. She was constantly sending me funny emails. One day I asked her WHERE she got all this stuff from! I smile as I type this because she made me laugh with her funny emails so many times. I have already been missing her emails because we emailed most every day. I know I will continue to miss them but I also know she is in heaven and in a much better place than we are in. I know she’s not having to worry about the state the economy is in or how bad it’s going to get, or anything else anymore. We never did get to meet each other and I sure would have loved to meet her! We will meet each other in heaven one day though. :)

She shared lots of stuff in emails and since I was going through menopause I don’t remember lots of it. :( I’m sure some of it will come back to me here and there. I remember her telling me several times about her grand daughter helping her out around the house doing things for her. She helped her clean out and declutter a room and that lifted up her spirits.

I am going to miss your Georgia and all your funny emails! I know you’re mega happy now and running around like a little kid there with your Ben. Hugs to you sis and I sure do love you! You’re already missed!

Checking This Out

Going to try a pic. ;)

Sport

This is our Boston Terrier puppy, Buddy. This is what he looked like a couple days before we went to pick him up.

Buddy LOL

This is what he looks like now. He is 5 months old now and growing like a weed. He is also trying to protect us now. ;) Everyone that comes to see us he wants to bark and bark and bark some more at them. He is serious to, not playing. He’s a very good dog and has been potty trained now since he was 3 months old. He’s doing so very well at not using the bathroom in the house.

Wall Shelves For My Collections

As you know my DH and I got my band saw put together the other day. Back a few years ago before our shed burnt, we had made some shelves in our dining room to hold all my collections of tea cups and teapots. As I was cutting out all this stuff for it I also cut out the wood for shelves above our four windows in the living room. I didn't get to finish the shelves in the living room because the shed burnt and my band saw was also burnt! :( I had the shelves on the carport as well as some other boards or they all would have been burnt as well. We FINALLY got just a little from the insurance company on it and we built it back and then got a little more from them last spring and I got some more of the stuff we had lost in the shed. The insurance money we got didn't nearly bout cover our losses so we got aggravated at them and changed insurance companies because we had to keep on begging to get the little we got from them. Anyway I did manage to get me another band saw last spring. So now I can do my shelves I had started for the windows in the living room since it's put together. What I wanted to do is make the shelf with the curtain rod attached to it.

I was out in the shed getting the pieces of wood that I had cut out this evening. I noticed I had another long board that I had forgotten about that I had stuck out there after we had the shed built back. So I think I am going to make me a shelf for my bedroom window as well. That way I can put sea shells and other things on the shelf in there and have more shelf space. Nobody can have enough of that huh? ;)

On the shelves for the living room I am going to paint them the color of the walls in there which is that pretty green. That way they will blend in with the walls and you will only notice what's on the shelves hopefully. Then the one for the bedroom I think I am going to paint white because the rod and the finials are white as well.

Idea

By Joe I think I got it Rhoda! BUT WHY is it soooo blurry? Rhoda gave directions on how to make your pix large because the blog makes them small. Sorry it's blurry!

Excuse my mess of paper and plastic. I have all this stuff I have been painting sitting on it under the ceiling fans to get it dry.

I was just before donating this thing because I couldn't think of anything to do with it. THEN it hit me! Last weekend when DH and I went to the flea market I found some of those little plastic cubes you freeze for ice in shapes of sea shells. I just got finished painting the metal thing Heirloom White. I am going to sit it in my bathroom with the plastic ice cubes in it. lol When I picked up the ice cubes I thought they were those little soaps that are shaped in different shapes. Anyway I think they will be cute in it with a small hand towel thrown over the arms of it. Maybe I can add some kind of trim to the little hand towel to decorate it up some. I have a few of the little ice cubes lying beside it so you can see.

Thrifting

Click on pix to enlarge.......

Went to the thrift store today to take some things I wasn't using as well as some plastic grocery sacks that had piled up. Guess what I found? : ) I found 2 more sea gulls to add to the ones I found on Ebay. Mine were also brown and my DD painted them for me. Hopefully she will paint these to. Her plates a little full right now, but she enjoys painting. Anyway wanted to show you what I am referring to. Also wanted to show you the painted wall shelves. I wont use all of these in the bedroom redo but will probably use one or two in the bathroom when I start that project because I wanted it to match our bedroom.
Also I found this frame with the ballet shoes in it and was going to paint it and put sea shells in place of the shoes. As you can see I have it all painted. I put some sea shells in it but have decided I want four different kinds of shells. Also the shells I chose is too small. So now I've got to look in my sea shell collections and see if I can find 4. What I would love to do is find 4 that would look good in it from the ones I found in Gulf Shores on our last trip there. That would be really cool!! I haven't glued it back together yet so that's good. I've just got it stuck back together to get a pic of it. I thought about putting some sky blue paper or something in there behind the shells so they would show up better.
Also here is the little curtain rod brackets I cut out yesterday with my band saw. I've got to drill the holes in them for the screws. Also wanted to show you a pic of one of the brackets I have in our dining room. I cut this one out several years back for in there. This is how it will look painted but these two that I need for the bedroom will be painted white. There is also a little shelf holder in the pic at the end of the curtain finial. I have a shelf up at the top of the wall all around the dining room with all my tea cup, teapot collections on it.
Last but not least I just had to tell ya about this. ;) l I was taking a pic of the little shelves and our puppy, Buddy just HAS to be right under you when you're doing something. I knelt down to take the pix and here he came, so I took one of him to. Isn't he the cutest thing ever? LOL Can you tell he is SPOILED? ;)

Edited to add: I am sitting here with our windows open enjoying this spring weather we are having. Spring is definitely my favorite time of year!!! Anyway sitting here checking out my favorite blogs listening to the bob whites and the doves making their cute little sounds. Life just can't be any better than this! :)

Beautiful Summer Day

Man it was just simply beautiful today! We got out and finished putting the band saw together and I even got to play around with it some. Man that thing runs soooooo smooth compared to my old Black and Decker one! I cut me out some of the wooden curtain rod holders for the bedroom. When I got done playing around with that I even mowed some and swept some leaves with the sweeper. It was just so nice out there. Everything is soooo pretty and green now and the azaleas are blooming as well as my white iris's and brides wreath. Oh and my magnolia fascata. Man that thing is smelling fine! Smells like really ripe bananas. lol

Have an awesome day!

Decorating

I know you all are probably sick of hearing about all this bedroom redo stuff. Just please bare with me a little while longer and maybe it will all be done and finished!
I got the second coat of paint on the little wall cabinets tonight.
DH and I have been putting my band saw together that I have had for a total year now. I told him I was putting it together either today or tomorrow! So he got it and started doing it this evening. I need it because I need to cut out me some hangers for my wooden curtain rod for the room. I was going to paint the rod but then thought I would also need to paint the holders so I decided to wait until I got them cut out. Were almost done putting it together. I got dark on us and we hadn't had any dinner so we quit until tomorrow. We really only lack the table part and that really needs to be level so we need some day time to do that in. That's about all I have to share for tonight.
I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

More Painting

Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality inspired me today with her painting the new corner cabinet she found for her dining room. Check out her neat corner cabinet!
http://southernhospitality-rhoda.blogspot.com/2009/03/new-treasure-corner-cabinet.html

I felted drained and just tired and wasn't going to do much and visited her site and she got me inspired. lol I really needed to paint those little shelves I had found in the attic for my bedroom. It was raining today and very humid but I went ahead and painted anyway and I have the ceiling fans blowing on the stuff so it will dry. I think the rain is gone now for a little while so maybe it all will dry. So anyway I got all of them painted and even did a little sponge painting on the RELAX sign I found awhile back for the bedroom. The blue I painted it was just a little TOO BLUE for me. So I am inching my way to having this master bedroom beachy themed room being done. ;)

Daughters LOL

Ok D.D. says no on the little piece of trim for the chest. She says it's too much. lol You know me, I ALWAYS have to have too much! hee hee
It's rainy and dreary here so I can't varnish or paint because of all this humidity. So I am just being today. VERY bored! lol And so is Buddy! He is staying on his favorite chair since he can't sit here and lick my feet, arm, hands, or leg! I am constanly telling him no no but he doesn't get the message that I don't like a dog licking me. ;)

Rose's Attic

Click on pix to enlarge them.........

Yeah, been up in my attic this evening and man I had bought some things for the bedroom redo that I had completely forgotten about. lol Anyway I have little shelves running out my ears. These will get painted to use in there. I sit down today and jotted down ideas on where I wanted to put all the pix I have on the walls. Also some ideas for little things around them as well.

When you see my things and you have ideas, I don't mind you telling me your ideas. I might just like yours better than my own. :)

I got in the attic to get out my wooden curtain rod so I could paint it white for the valance. I guess I will have to cut out me some curtain rod hangers for them because I think I have used the ones I used for those in my dining room redo a couple years back.

Also here is a pic of my lucky bamboo I bought yesterday and fixed in the glass container for the bedroom. I had some little dolphins that I added to the rocks.

Also wanted to ask your opinion about the little decorative piece I was thinking about adding to this drawer of my chest. Does it look right or does it go? I've had it for awhile and when my DD brought it to my attention about that drawer not having anything on it and the others do, I thought about this piece. Of course I will paint it to match the chest. ;)
Anyway here are some things I found in my attic awhile ago.
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!!

Seashell Pix

This evening my DH wanted to go to the Flea Market to see if he could find a handle for his muscovy hoe. I hope that's how you spell that word! lol It belonged to his grandpa and he wanted a handle for it. He and his brothers planted 5 pounds of sweet corn so I guess he's getting ready to hoe it. ;)

I was telling him the last time I was over there at the flea market they had loads of handles at really good prices. So he wanted to ride over there today. The guy there running the booth didn't have the handle he needed but the elderly man that makes the handles for him could make it he said. So he left him his phone number so when he got the handle he could call him so we could go get it. Telling you that to tell you.......lol I went looking around while he talked to the man and I found a nice stack of 8x10 and 5x7 picture frames and the lady in this booth said they were 2.00 for the whole lot of them. I picked out the ones I wanted and told her she could resale the others because I didn't want those. :) I was just wanting them for the glass in them for my frames I just got at Hudson's for my seashell pix. I even got an extra one for a friends pic I needed a frame for.
I also found 3 plastic containers of plastic ice cubes in the shapes of shells and starfish at the same booth. I thought they were little bars of soap but it was ice cubes. They were only 1.00 per container so I bought all three. I thought they would be really cute in some clear glass containers sitting in the bedroom or in the bath on our tub.
So tonight I cleaned all the glasses and got the pix all put together and even got a hanger on the backs of each of them. I had this wooden shelf I bought a few weeks back for 3-4.00 when my sis and I were thrift store shopping and I want to put it with the pix.
I left the inside edge of the frames unpainted so the wood color would bring out the brown in the pix and I really like the way they turned out.

I've got it laid out on the bed the way I want to hang it on the wall. I have some small things I can put on the shelves like candles with sand or sea shells in them etc. One of the pix is blurring because I was trying to stand on a chair in there to take the pic so you could see inside the shelf. I must have been shaking and made the pic blurry. LOL

Dinner

We had dinner tonight at a really neat place near Seminary,MS. It was a seafood restaurant. My sister has been there before and she told us about it and told us the way and we all went there for dinner tonight. These pix was taken right there at the place. I saw the waterwheel about the time I was to turn into the drive of the restaurant and I said hold up, I GOTTA go look at this and take pix! LOL I dearly LOVE old stuff like this!!! I could have played around here for awhile but our stomachs were telling us, lets go eat! ;)

This was built in the 1800's so the menu in the restaurant said. It was a gristmill, a sawmill, and rice mill and one more thing that I can't remember right now. The waterwheel used to be over close to the old looking building to the right of the pic but it was moved to the area where it is sat up now. That thing was shooting the water off it on both sides. You know as I go back looking at the pix I wonder if that wheel wasn't in the center there where the concrete is so wide. Anyway wanted to share the pix with you all!!! I hope you enjoy!

One of the pix is what I think, not sure on this but it just looks like an old general store to me. In my imagination I was thinking now that looks like an old general store and I bet it's name was, The Gristmill General Store. :)

OHHH and they EVEN HAD MALLARD DUCKS! Pretty ones to. I miss my ducks! :(
