I’m getting little by little done on the decorating. Normally I have the tree up by now but not this year. I feel like I am in slow motion but my body is going all the time except for the little I do sleep. Where the time goes I have NO IDEA. ;)
When ones husband retires, loads of things changes. Just can’t seem to manage MY time anymore. :( I feel like I am fighting all the time just to get the basics accomplished, let alone the fun things.
Anyway here is a little of what I accomplished today. I am still planning on adding some bows and ribbons to it all so I’m not done with it. PLUS I’ve got to tweak it a little as well.
It rained today and I thought the rain on the garland with the lights on was pretty and naturally it’s NOT AS pretty in the pic as it is in person.
Front porch lights shining down in the pond.
Sorry this one is so blurry but it’s the only one I have at this angle.
I need to clean my steps once again and I still have all my decorating stuff piled up there on the porch. ;) I blotted out our house number for safety reasons. I’m still trying to decide if I want to put wreaths on the windows or not. I know I NEED something on the windows BUT WHAT?
I don’t know if you can tell it or not but I let the icicle lights go down the wall on the right side against the house because I had left over. BUT then when I got to the other side some of my lights didn’t want to work AFTER I got them up. I was getting aggravated at this point because that was the second one that did that! I went through ALL of this lights and changed bulbs etc. checking them to make sure they worked before I even started this today. So now I’ve got to go back and fix them like I did the other side. So like I said earlier, more tweaking. ;)
I also wanted to show you my pansies I planted yesterday. NOT happy with the way the colored lights looked when I got them on my chair. But it was dark AND cold last night when I was doing it so I just left it for another day. I think what I am going to do is add me a wreath on the wall above the chair and add some clear lights on the wreath with a pretty bow and call it a day! ;) Where’s Jennifer when I need her? Jennifer is a lady on a decorating forum I visit often. She has an awesome gift of decorating. The things she does is just awesome! Mine never never turns out like I see it in my head. I thought this cute little metal chair would be sooooo cute with my baskets of pansies. It needs something and I have no clue what it is. I thought about a pretty Christmas bow on the back of the chair instead of the lights that I don’t like. DO I need to remove some of the baskets or what? I just planted these yesterday so they haven’t filled in yet, but they will. :) Anyway any help or advise as to what this needs would me MUCH APPRECIATED!
Oh forgot to say the pansies are several colors. Not just the yellows and oranges. There is also a really deep purple in there and some white with purple edges to.

Your home is just so stinking cute I can't stand it! I love, love, love your brick steps and sidewalk...your landscaping with the day lilies ?...it is just too cute! I live in a very big house and it is my dream to scale down to a home just your size! Please keep up the posts and pictures , I sure enjoy them.
This is so cute but maybe you can winterize the scene a bit...and you could have incorporated your lights INTO and around your flower and a basket maybe like this blogger
http://thebunnysbungalow.blogspot.com/2008/12/t-his-square-wreath-i-made-several.html
the basket is below the picture frame..
also if you have an old birdhouse and put pine branches coming out of it and set in among you flowers..that would be a nice touch to ....a grapevine wreath above would be great and hang one of those stars down the center.
hope you know i am just suggesting ...and I hope you do not mind me nosing around you blog....lol

Oh my no, Jackie I love your company!!! Thank you for your sweet comments and your help! I can use all the help I can get in this field! lol Now I LOVE those ideas!!!! I am dancing a jig here because I have a couple birdhouses and have loads and loads of cedar AND pine I can use in and around it. Now you have me thinking that I could even use some spray on snow to. Anyway THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for your ideas!!!
LOL that is soooo funny! I guess the grass IS always greener on the other side of the fence.... I want larger and you want smaller. You wanna swap? lol
Oh I like those little grapevine balls on her site. I might have to make me some of those to since I over did it just a little while getting my grapevine. ;)
