It's Getting Closer

Click on pix to enlarge.

Thank you sistah! :) And I'll just have to post you some pix of those gingerbread men when I get the spray on them. I want to use some of the little narrow 1/4" wide red satin ribbon to hang them with.

Well I got all the Old Country Rose dishes out of the china cabinet and put in the green and beige ones.
I put my bed tray on the china cabinet trying to decide how I want to use it. I LOVE this bed tray but have never been able to figure out how to use it that it's NOT in the way. Then when I do use it I don't like how it looks. UGHHHH anyway I put it in here to try and figure out someway to use the thing. I am also NOT finished with the top of the china cabinet. Playing around with it right now but want to do something Christmasy up there or on the shelf area one.
I put my Old Country Rose tea cups and saucers and the teapot in the little tall cabinet I have in there. The one that has the little glass windows in it that's in the corner in one of the pix. They look really neat in there to. I had to have somewhere to put them to keep them from getting broken.
I don't know if the red I am decorating for Christmas with is going to look right with these green dishes or not. ????? SO I may have to tone down the red if I decorate that cabinet.
Oh I also stuck me a small centerpiece on the table. lol Don't know if that's staying or not.
Got one more thing to go through in the living room and then I can start putting the things up in the attic.
You know as I was looking at these pix I was thinking maybe I need to move that last shelf of green dishes on the china cabinet on down to the other shelf. I think that might look better. That way it wont be sooooooo much green all together.

Christmas

Click on pics to enlarge.
I have started today pulling off all the whatnot's off the shelves and tables to Christmas decorate. I rearranged the dining room and man it looks sooooooooooo much better like this! Although I DO HATE to put something in front of my windows I did put the sideboard because it's under the windows and doesn't block the view. BUT I still hate putting anything in front of them because it makes it harder to get to the curtains to pull them back everyday. Anyway it looks much nicer like this though because the table and the china cabinet is long ways like the sideboard and it makes the room look larger. ANYTHING to make it look larger! LOL

Here are some pix of my rearranged dining room. Ignore my drying gingerbread men on the table and my unpainted curtain rod. ONE OF THESE DAYS I AM going to paint the thing! I have a few spots that need touching up in there as well! I really don't have anything arranged on the table center or on the top of the sideboard or the curio cabinet because I plan on decorating it for Christmas. So I'll have to move some of what is there now. I think I am going to decorate the china cabinet and the sideboard for Christmas and just use a small centerpiece for the table. I am still in the thinking mode trying to figure out WHAT to do. I am just now putting away all the fall and Thanksgiving decorations! lol I did manage to get the Christmas table cloth and place mats on the table today. :)
I have also decided in this moving around today that I am going to take all that off the top of my china cabinet and put something else up there. It's too much I think. I am doing my dead level best to get rid of some clutter!!!!!
I am STILL working on some boxes I had in the attic as well. Trying to go through those and see what I want to keep and what needs to be gone from here.
Now the living room is next and then I'll have to stick all the items I took off the shelves into the attic while my Christmas decorating things are out. It's wayyyyyy too cluttered in this small house to use my normal decorating things as well as my Christmas decorating things at the same time. So one goes in the attic while the other stays out.
I'm thinking about putting the off white and green dishes in my china cabinet for Christmas and putting the Old Country Rose ones up for awhile. Since my color will be red this Christmas I thought the green and off white ones would look nice in there with the red. You know me though, I'll probably have to toss in some gold as well since I LOVE gold for Christmas decorating.

Vase

I wanted to show you something I found for 1.55 the other day at the thrift store. I can't remember if I already shown it or not so if I have, forgive me for my senior moment! ;) BUT when I saw one awhile ago almost like it at Cindy's blog over at Romantic Homes http://romantichome.blogspot.com/2008/10/some-more-treasures-from-my-mom.html I just had to show you mine to. I had racked my brain WHAT to put in mine but couldn't think of a thing. NOW I KNOW, thanx to Cindy! :) I KNEW I liked it when I saw it because it is just so unique!
I just love Cindy's decorating style! Check out her blog if you haven't! It's awesome!!!

Two Walls Done, Two More to Go!

Got almost two walls peeled so far. You can read ALL about it on the other posts I made before this one if you have no idea what I am talking about. :) The wall my friend and I were working on last night is totally finished and I got another one almost finished this evening. I just had to stop. My neck is mega hurting and I don't want to get down because we have a fun trip planned for this weekend. So here I sit with my ice pack on my neck and then it will go a little farther down toward my back next. lol I probably wont work on the wall tomorrow. I probably need to let the old back and neck rest up. It's just according to how it feels.

I forgot to say in the other post I made about what my painter friend advised me to do about this wall. When I get all this paint peeled off, I have to sand it lightly. The areas that are grayish in color will have to be sanded with a sanding block and the others I will use my palm sander since those areas have spackling.
No Daff, it's just me so far working on it. My friend helped out last night a bunch and wanted to come back today but I wasn't going to work on it but decided to call her and see if she wanted to ride to Lowe's with me to get that commercial primer. Then later this evening I got in there messing around with it and decided to work some on it. She'll probably call me back tomorrow, lol, knowing her, if she doesn't have anything else planned to do and want to help me. But I really don't need to work on it anymore I don't think. We'll see. Man that mess is nasty! It's like sheet rock is when you first build a house! You know how powdery it is? I have vacuumed and vacuumed trying to keep that mess from getting all in the house. Also got an air filter going in there as well. I broke one of my ceiling fan blades the other night cleaning it. So I don't have a ceiling fan in there for right now but do have one of the box fans going in there to help since close to the ceiling gets so hot when you're having to work up there. I broke the metal thing that attaches to the blade and then attaches to the fan as well. When we went to Lowe's I looked for one to match it but they wanted 15.00 for 4 and I don't NEED FOUR, I just need ONE! LOL So I decided to just wait since the fan is 19 years old anyway. I'm hoping I can just find one in my junk store hoping that will work until we replace the old fan. I just hated to put 15.00 in those things and then the fan tear up on me since it's so old. We had been planning on replacing it soon anyway, so I'm not wasting that amount of money on it.

So two walls down and two more walls to go. The two walls that aren't done, one has a window on it and the other wall has TWO doors so the walls aren't huge ones like the wall the bed sets on.

I also decide to just leave the things under the bed since I could just slide the bed out from the wall a little so I could get in there between it and the wall. So that worked out well! The less I have to move and put back later, the better. ;)

Thank you all for you comments and encouragement!!!!
