More Christmas Decorating

I’m getting little by little done on the decorating. Normally I have the tree up by now but not this year. I feel like I am in slow motion but my body is going all the time except for the little I do sleep. Where the time goes I have NO IDEA. ;)

When ones husband retires, loads of things changes. Just can’t seem to manage MY time anymore. :( I feel like I am fighting all the time just to get the basics accomplished, let alone the fun things.

Anyway here is a little of what I accomplished today. I am still planning on adding some bows and ribbons to it all so I’m not done with it. PLUS I’ve got to tweak it a little as well.

It rained today and I thought the rain on the garland with the lights on was pretty and naturally it’s NOT AS pretty in the pic as it is in person.

Sorry this one is so blurry but it’s the only one I have at this angle.

PC071173

I need to clean my steps once again and I still have all my decorating stuff piled up there on the porch. ;)  I blotted out our house number for safety reasons. I’m still trying to decide if I want to put wreaths on the windows or not. I know I NEED something on the windows BUT WHAT?

Pc071191

I don’t know if you can tell it or not but I let the icicle lights go down the wall on the right side against the house because I had left over. BUT then when I got to the other side some of my lights didn’t want to work AFTER I got them up. I was getting aggravated at this point because that was the second one that did that! I went through ALL of this lights and changed bulbs etc. checking them to make sure they worked before I even started this today.  So now I’ve got to go back and fix them like I did the other side. So like I said earlier, more tweaking. ;)

I also wanted to show you my pansies I planted yesterday. NOT happy with the way the colored lights looked when I got them on my chair. But it was dark AND cold last night when I was doing it so I just left it for another day. I think what I am going to do is add me a wreath on the wall above the chair and add some clear lights on the wreath with a pretty bow and call it a day! ;) Where’s Jennifer when I need her? Jennifer is a lady on a decorating forum I visit often. She has an awesome gift of decorating. The things she does is just awesome! Mine never never turns out like I see it in my head. I thought this cute little metal chair would be sooooo cute with my baskets of pansies. It needs something and I have no clue what it is. I thought about a pretty Christmas bow on the back of the chair instead of the lights that I don’t like. DO I need to remove some of the baskets or what? I just planted these yesterday so they haven’t filled in yet, but they will. :) Anyway any help or advise as to what this needs would me MUCH APPRECIATED!

Oh forgot to say the pansies are several colors. Not just the yellows and oranges. There is also a really deep purple in there and some white with purple edges to.

The old barn! The roof was worn out on it a few years ago. He replaced it and just shortly after Katrina struck and bless his heart, it tore up the roof and one whole side was leaning like it was about to fall over. THANK GOODNESS he fixed it and didn’t tear it down! I was SO AFRAID he was going to tear it down but he didn’t and I was a happy camper when I saw he was working on it yet again. I KNOW it sure is frustrating but we all LOVE this old barn!!!

My tulip tree is SO confused! lol It’s been blooming ALL SUMMER LONG off and on and now it looks like it has more blooms on it.

Pc061132

And now for THE rug! I have scrubbed this thing on my hands and knees TRYING to get some spots out of it. It is VERY heavy when it is dry let alone wet! We needed it to dry so we put it on the back of the old car so it would be in the sun and dry faster. Well it has rained ever since I washed it. Then it got snow on it as you can see. I am wondering if this poor thing will ever get to dry. ;) Anyway the spots are STILL in it and I don’t think they are the least bit lighter in color either. :( But anyway I’ll figure out some kind of use for it if I can’t get them out on one more try since I did spend 10.00 on it I can’t just toss it. lol If nothing else the cats can sleep on it under their blankets! ;)

Hope you’re enjoying all the snow photo’s.
