Class Reunions and Garage Sales

Well I hope you all had a great day this gorgeous Sat. I know we did except for when my DH embarrassed me to death! He can be so crude sometimes and I want to crawl into a hole somewhere! :( He had his 42nd class reunion today and one of his classmates had it in his home for them all. It was VERY NICE, the home AND reunion. You all would have flipped out over their home! I wish I'd had my camera so I could have taken pix to show you all. JUST GORGEOUS! And they did most of it them selves she said. We did all our painting, staining and varnishing and stuff like that. BUT DH and I don't know how to cut the moldings and all that sort of stuff so we had to hire all that done when we built our home. Anyway she really knows how to decorate! Her foyer was AWESOME! She painted it herself and I had to feel of it to see if it was wallpaper! It was THAT GOOD! The doorways were arched and rounded at the edges instead of square and she stopped the painting before she got to the rounded edges and it really did have a great effect! I just loved it!!!! It really made the edges look more round. Too cool! Was just a really nice home! You could really tell they loved it and were really proud of it by the way they kept it up and kept it clean and tidy. I think everyone felt very welcome, I know I did!

I missed a 10 family garage sale today. Yep sure did! So you see I DO PASS some up! ;) One of my friends forwarded me an email that was sent to her telling all about it. I was like, I don't NEED anything else. I've GOT to get this bedroom done and de-clutter some more so I can't add more to an already cluttered house. So I talked myself right out of going to it. lol I've just got to set me aside an area in the shed with some large plastic tubs for all the things I find to use to decorate the house with. I can't keep cluttering up the house with it all. IF and I DID SAY IF this decorating came easier for me I would know what to take and what to leave! lol But I think, oh this would be neat for this or that and I can use it so here it comes home with me like some little lost dog. ;) Then later I think, now WHY did I buy THAT? WHATTTTTTTTTT was I thinking? lol Then I wind up donating it back to the places! I need to start having garage sales so I can make my money back from it all don't I?

Un-Godly Language

As I start typing this one up I couldn't think of a topic to call it. So I thought, just start typing and it will come to you. So here goes.........

I don't know about you but it's really bothering me a lot about how inconsiderate folks are these days. I guess it's my age and I KNOW it's satan but it's MUCH WORSE now than it was when I was growing up. Used to folks were respectful of others and didn't curse and talk about bad things when others were around they didn't know. Now, you can't go anywhere and not hear foul words. I just can't stand cursing, I just really can't stand it. While eating out at lunch time today the folks in the table behind us, they just kept on with their cursing. I want SO BAD to say something to folks when they're doing that, but HOW do you go about something like that? HOW can I be nice about it and be a good Godly example to them? It just really annoys me and it's gotten soooo bad these days. You can't even go anywhere now without hearing them on their cell phones talking to someone with their foul language! I really don't like hearing it and this is my world as well as theirs. Lots of the men don't even have respect for women anymore and will stand there talking like that with whomever around, they don't care. :( That is so sad! I just get so sick of hearing the bad language that I want to be a hermit so I don't have to hear it.

You know it just hit me what I could have done at lunch time today! I SHOULD have asked to be moved to another table. BUT it's so bad these days I might would have even heard the langauge at the new table. I just hate to be a burden to the restuarant folks and make them move us to another table.

Just Amazing

Yes it is, it's just amazing how this bedroom is coming together for us. I am so excited about it. Since I have a theme I am not having sooooo much trouble thinking of things to do and to buy. Even my white chenille bedspread with the blue in it, I bought several months back is going to work really well with this theme.

You can click on the photo's above to enlarge them if you like.

I thought I had about finished buying things for this bedroom but I just COULD NOT pass these up. ;) Mostly paid 1.00 or under for these items. We have a place called Dirt Cheap around here in MS. and that's where I found the picture frames for .30 ea. My daughter and I have several pix we have taken at Gulf Shores AL. of the beach and dolphins etc. that I want to print and frame for our bedroom. I will be painting the frames another color. The square thing sitting on the sea shells is a curtain tie back I also found there for only .50 for the pair. I figured that would really be neat to paint and then glue one of the flat sea shells onto it for tying back the curtains. Not sure what color I will paint them yet. Will wait and see WHAT color I need more of in there when I get close to being finished with it all. They will be off white or light blue I'm sure. I first thought of just gluing some sea shells on each one and hanging it on the wall without the gold metal thing that screws into them and putting them in one of the wall arrangements. But I think they will be better as tie backs. If I decide not to use them in the bedroom I can use them in the bathroom for the shower curtains tie backs.

Then I went to a little junk store and found the larger shell item & it is a night light with several kinds of shells on it. The larger shell that is standing up is really shiny on the inside. It was VERY dusty and in bad need of some TLC. So I pulled the cord out and really give it a good washing with soap and a toothbrush. I can't wait to see what it looks like lite up. It's got to dry out first though. I also found a large glass vase with lots of different kinds of sea shells in it for 1.00. I need all the sea shells I can get for those lamps AND for decorating. I put all of them in with some others I had already bought and took a pic of it in the large jug. Did I say how I LOVE sea shells! ;)

Looks like I wasn't the only one that went thrifting on this Friday! I notice Cranberry Crossings also found some neat bargains! I think she and I have some things in common! :) Way to go girl!!!!

Edited to add: The shell night light has dried out sitting under the ceiling fans and I had to show you a pic of it. Although, you cannot see all the multi colors that are in it, it's still kinda cool. :)

Have started taking more vitamin C's as well as making sure I'm taking my other vitamins as well. Also taking some Clartin, and musinex. Not sure how that's spell and don't have the energy to go check the box. lol I have just lay ed around for the past couple days and did almost nothing. Hoping to feel better really soon and back at my old self. Now I am off to bed for some much needed rest. Good Nightie all!
